As "ambassadors" of Austria and its music culture, the Vienna Boys' Choir is known worldwide.
Your repertoire ranges from folk songs to the Viennese waltz to the most delicate art songs. The probably most famous boys' choir in the world has a long tradition: Since the thirteenth century, boys have been singing in the Vienna Burgkapelle. In 1498, Maximilian I moved his court, along with the chapel, to Vienna. Musicians such as Mozart, Salieri, and Bruckner worked at the Viennese court; Joseph Haydn, Michael Haydn, and Franz Schubert sang as boys in the court music chapel. Today, there are around 100 Viennese boys' choir members aged between 9 and 14 years, divided into four choirs. Together, the choirs give 300 concerts each year in front of almost half a million spectators around the world.
