No motorized flying objects, but birds ranging from the small yet fast falcon to the enormous vulture fly during this show. They soar just above the heads of the visitors towards their falconers, who they can see over the shoulder and who explain the birds and their work as professional falconers in detail.
The castle terrace of Castle Oberkapfenberg boasts excellent wind and thermal conditions. This allows for the natural free flights of eagles, vultures, condors, and others to become a spectacular experience. Several birds of prey also fly simultaneously, an experience that is hard to find elsewhere in Europe. From early April to late October, from Wednesday to Sunday, at 11:00 and 15:00 (exceptions see castle calendar).
Culinary Tip: After the flying show, you can recharge with a snack at the summer tavern of Castle Oberkapfenberg and then easily tackle the 10-minute ascent to the Lorettokapelle. About 5 kilometers away, you will also find the eatery Prieselbauer with great cuisine, a petting zoo, and a large playground.
